Amazing
Having the privilege of studying abroad and working in a developing country has changed me so much. From the beautiful, lustrous and mystical history of this country (Cambodia) to starving children and human trafficking… my heart has been affected so deeply. Everything I thought I knew up until these past months have only been in black and white- from prints of newspapers, articles, books, media, etc. I’m going to try to not take things for granted. I have uttered those words countless times, but when you have witnessed some of the extremes directly will you fully appreciate what it means. I’m not saying that I’m above and beyond and have reached enlightenment (for I’ve only just dipped my foot into this vast and huge ocean), but this journey has been an incredible experience and most importantly a huge revelation. I think everyone should get out of their comfort zone. It’s definitely a way in which we come to find ourselves or at least a piece of it. I feel like Elizabeth Gilbert from Eat, Pray, Love. Cheesy, but that was one of my favorite and inspirational movies.
